Winnifred Reid is an experienced and passionate educator from the UK, who has spent more than 15 years inspiring and guiding students in Jamaica, England and China. Ms. Reid has developed a unique philosophy of teaching that focuses on fostering critical thinking, creativity, and independence in her students. She believes that it's important to create a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students can feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their ideas.
Ms. Reid sets high expectations for her students, encouraging them to strive for academic excellence and personal growth. She believes that each student has unique abilities and interests, which should be fostered and developed through personalized teaching approaches, feedback, and challenges. While she expects her students to put forth their best effort and to take responsibility for their learning, she believes in providing support and resources to help them achieve their goals and reach their full potential. Ms. Reid understands that high school can be a challenging time for students, and she works closely with them to help them overcome obstacles, build confidence, and develop a love of learning.
Ms. Reid is known for her engaging and interactive teaching style, incorporating technology and real-world examples to make lessons more relevant and exciting for her students. She believes that education should be a collaborative process, with teachers and students working together to explore, question, and create. Her classroom is a place where active participation is encouraged, and students are challenged to think outside the box and explore their own unique perspectives.
As a new teacher, she feels incredibly honored and excited to join this community of diverse learners. She looks forward to working with motivated and curious students who embody the school motto of "be inspired." As a teacher, she is constantly inspired by her students and she hopes to inspire them in turn to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and compassionate citizens of the world.
