In the spring of 2025, Steven Ma, founder of Qingdao Pegasus California School and member of the UC Regents Selection Committee, embarked on an educational exploration trip to California with the core management team of the school. As the only international school in China that authorized by the then California Secretary of Education, this journey not only connected with top-tier universities like Stanford and UC Berkeley but also reached the Office of the California State Treasurer.
They revisited Fiona Ma, the current California State Treasurer, and engaged in in-depth discussions with former California Secretary of Education Dr. David Long, exploring possibilities for international cooperation and gathering momentum for the 2025 admissions and enrollment season with world-class educational resources!
UC Berkeley
The Pegasus delegation received a special surprise as UC Berkeley alumnus Steven Ma personally led a unique night tour of Berkeley, revealing the secrets behind the academic legacy of this century-old university.
With deep affection for his alma mater and extensive experience, Steven guided the group through this academic sanctuary. In the physics lab, he shared with reverence, "This lab has given birth to seven Nobel laureates; every inch of space here embodies wisdom and breakthroughs."
Next, the delegation stepped into the Haas School of Business, ranked among the top3 in the U.S., immersing themselves in the rich business academic atmosphere and feeling the pulse of cutting-edge business concepts. Upon reaching Sather Gate, Steven reminisced, "These mailboxes here hold the memories of countless Berkeley students' struggles."
The delegation experienced the daily life of an Ivy League school, from the rigorous laboratories to the lively hot dog stands, fully appreciating Berkeley's unique elite education philosophy. In the blend of academia and life, they sought the secrets of the success of top universities, opening the door to world-class universities for students.
Stanford
At Stanford University, Pegasus alumnus Harry led the school's leadership on a tour of the top-tier institution he is attending. Surrounded by green fields, lakes, and rich vegetation, the campus blends nature and culture, with a profound academic heritage and a unique artistic atmosphere. The architecture combines classical and modern styles, arranged in an orderly yet elegant and grand manner!
Harry, who had previously studied at Carnegie Mellon University and is now enrolled in Stanford's School of Engineering, generously shared his experiences at Stanford, providing a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of this world-renowned institution:
From exam-oriented education to interest-driven learning, from being forced to study to genuinely wanting to do something, the inspiring American education philosophy of Pegasus ignited a deep-seated passion within me and also helped me develop critical thinking and independent thinking abilities.
From Pegasus, I was able to ascend to a more superior and vast learning platform. At Stanford University, I have more opportunities to explore my passions, learn the mysteries of mathematics, engineering, AI, and other disciplines, and ultimately serve society. So I want to say that one must do what they are interested in to realize their own life value, truly enjoy life, and love life.
Santa Clara University
The spotlight shifts to Santa Clara University, where Pegasus alumnus Andy is about to complete his undergraduate studies. Upon hearing that his former teachers from Pegasus were visiting the U.S., Andy warmly and promptly led the school's leadership on a campus tour and shared his experiences.
Andy, who had explored and experimented at Pegasus, eventually found his passion in the field of media. Since graduating from Pegasus, he has maintained a continuous drive for progress.
From an intern at China's top self-media company to the China promotion manager for the NBA Sacramento Kings, and then to an internship at a major Chicago investment bank last summer, Andy has steadily advanced. He has now grown into a versatile, mature, and globally-minded talent.
Speaking of his alma mater, Andy said, "Pegasus gave me the ability to explore spontaneously and the spirit of passion, which has kept me motivated even after graduation. I hope to fulfill my responsibility as a media professional in the future and become a bridge between China and the U.S., truly embodying what Pegasus taught us—"to be a responsible global citizen".
University of San Francisco
The Pegasus core management team visited the University of San Francisco, located in southern California. Founded in 1855, the university is renowned for its strong academic standing, small-class teaching quality, and generous scholarships for international students. Its graduates' employment salaries rank among the top in the U.S., earning it the reputation of being the "cradle of Chinese chairmen."
The Pegasus core management team had a face-to-face discussion with the international student admissions director, exploring effective ways to cultivate international students and stimulate their interests.
While traditional study abroad programs still chase rankings, Pegasus has already built a resource ecosystem spanning California's political circles, Ivy League academic circles, and the global industry. From Mr. Steven Ma's UCB laboratory to the NBA courts, from Stanford's AI laboratory to the San Francisco alumni center—we deliver not just offers, but a ticket to the world stage. Here at Pegasus, every student is the center of global resources!
