My name is Miss Mejra Sejdic. I hold combined Honors B.A. Degree in Sociology and German from University of Western Ontario, Canada. I am a Canadian-certified languages and social sciences high school teacher with over seven years of teaching experience in China.
I’ve had the pleasure to experience teaching Canadian Ontario and Nova Scotia provinces high school curriculums in Guangzhou and Changchun, as well as Oxford Cambridge English curriculum to pre-high school students of all ages in Jinan. The highlight of my career also encompasses two-year long experience teaching IBDP Social and Cultural Anthropology curriculum in Shanghai where I obtained my training and professional IBSCA certificate to teach that particular IB subject. Moreover, I was fortunate enough to experience teaching IB curriculum to middle school students in the city of Alexandria, Egypt.
My teaching philosophy is to create a safe environment for students that allows for supervised exploration. A key feature of my teaching mission is am emphasis on student-centered active learning. I strongly believe that students need to engage fully in the learning process to develop their strategies and to strengthen their skills in each separate course they study.
In my free time I like to travel, cook, learn about other cultures than my own, and listen to music. I consider myself to be an avid traveler who likes to explore world cultures. I am fluent in Bosnian/Croatian, German, and English. Currently I am working on improving my knowledge of French and Mandarin Chinese.
