The Fault in Our Stars is an amazing book written by John Green. You may know him from his YouTube channel, crash course series. I read it last summer with my friends when we were in Shanghai. We read the book together, and we watched the movie.
The novel tells a story of a young teenage girl named Hazel who has lung cancer met a boy named Augustus Waters. He had osteosarcoma, but it has recently healed. Hazel and Augustus went through a roller coaster ride of feelings, love, sadness and fear. They went to Amsterdam together to find the author of their favorite novel. (Which is also a story about cancer and death--An Imperial Affliction.) Just when everything is going romantically smooth, the world fell apart around them. Augustus became very sick. After he went to the hospital, he said, "my body lit up like a Christmas tree."
As Peter Houghton had taught them, "Some infinities are bigger than other infinities." For Hazel, as she said herself on his pre-funeral, Augustus Waters gave her an infinity in the limited number of days. Augustus feared oblivion, however he will always be remembered by, for he changed Hazel Grace's life forever.
I think this is a great book. The movie is almost identical to the book, but I would read the book first before watching the movie.
